A person answers this address Usually within two business days

Email support@causelinelabs.io — write from the address on your CauseLine account and say what you were doing when it went wrong. If it is about money, include the nonprofit and the amount.

Anything about a charge, a refund, or a round up you want removed goes to the same address, and we act on cancellation requests that reach us before the charge is made.

01 Where is my money?

Round ups do not go out one at a time. Each one joins a queue for the nonprofit you chose, and money moves only when that queue reaches $25 and three days have passed since your most recent round up. That can take weeks — see why $25 for the arithmetic, and the terms for what we do and do not promise.

The app shows two numbers on purpose: what is queued and what has been delivered. Only the second has reached anybody.

02 I want to cancel a round up

Anything that has not been charged can be removed. Open the queue for that nonprofit in the app and delete the round up, or email support@causelinelabs.io telling us which one. Once a charge has completed the gift is the nonprofit's and we cannot reverse it — but if a charge looks wrong, write to us and we will look into it.

03 I want to change where it goes

Change your cause in the app at any time. It applies to round ups from then on; anything already queued stays queued for the nonprofit you chose at the time, because that is who you decided to give it to. If you would rather it did not, cancel it (§2) and round up again.

If the nonprofit you want is not in the app, it is not yet set up to receive on the CauseLine platform. Nominate it in the search screen and we will invite them.

04 Payment methods and charges

Spare Up never asks for a card. Payment settings live in your CauseLine account on the web, and a new account is manual by default: when a queue is ready you get an email and pay it yourself. Automatic charging is something you turn on, in that account, if you want it.

So if you are waiting on a payment request, check the email address on your account — and check spam. See the terms for who charges what.

05 Scanning read the wrong number

Tap the total on the review screen and type the right one; Spare Up only counts a number you confirmed. If one got past you, remove it (§2) — the three-day window exists for exactly this. Register displays and faded thermal paper are the two things that read worst, and typing the amount is always available.

Receipt photos are read on your iPhone and deleted once the round up is recorded. We never have the image, so we cannot check one for you. See the Privacy Policy.

06 Account, data, and deletion

To get a copy of what we hold, correct it, or delete your account and its personal information, email support@causelinelabs.io from the account address. Deleting an account cancels everything still queued. Details, and what stays in the financial record, are in the Privacy Policy.
